•PERSONALITY » Mello is someone who tends to get exactly what he wants, and in that essence he is very spoiled. He considers everything he likes to be his, and can be very possesive of the things (or people) he believes are rightfully his. He's not afraid to use his fists to settle every argument he gets into, and is very quick to anger. He takes insults badly, and gets worked up over the smallest things. He has a inferiority complex and despises being below anyone. He always has to get his way, and he always feels the need to be better than anyone else. He is almost constantly needing to eat chocolate, and is rarely seen without it.
•APPEARANCE » He's about 5 ' 7 with blonde hair in a bob cut. He has peircing eyes that usually scare the life out of anyone trying to pick a fight with him. There's a large burn scar that takes up about half of his face. He likes to wear leather, and is rarely seen wearing anything else. He tends to wear black leather shoes, pants, vests, coats, and gloves. He is often mistaken for a girl, though he makes sure to put the people who dare say that in their place.
•HISTORY » Mello comes from the elite orphanage known only as Wammy's house. Brought there at the age of five, he has been training to become L's succsessor for ten years before he left. Origionally he was the first in line to succseed L at the institution, and heavily relished in his position. That was, until that annoying albino sheep by the name of Near showed up. Near took the title of Number one, and Mello has been his rival ever since. He lives for nothing more than to beat Near, and take his rightfull place at the top. He was considerably popular at Wammy's and had a little circle of friends, including his future assistant, Matt.
His mentor and superior, L, died when he was fifteen. Unfortunately for Mello, he had yet to surpass Near. So the title of the second L went to Near. There was an offer for him and Near to work together, though there was no way that Mello could go through with something like that. He went off on his own, under the guise of giving up. It seemed as though he'd completely abandoned his dream of being L's succsessor though that was not the case. He was merely biding his time until a better oppourtunity came along.
The mafia seemed like a good place to get the materials and people he needed for his ascent to the top of the world. Being the type of person he was, he had no problems about disobeying the law to get what he wanted as long as he could finish the Kira case before Near did. This case was just too important to him. It was the one that L had failed to finish, and that Near was trying to complete. The only way to prove to everyone that he was the best was to finish this before Near did. He kidnapped Sayu Yagami who was the daughter of the Japanese police cheif in order to get the Death Note that they had in their possesion. He proceeded to study and test the murder notebook and gained a sufficient knowledge of it that was above what Near had. With this boost in information it seemed only a matter of time before his victory.
Though he failed to cover his tracks sufficiently and the Japanese police stormed his base of operations, and took the notebook back. Mello made a hasty escape by blowing the place up. He escaped from the burning building but not entirely well, he had a scar burned on more than half of his face and it proceeds down his back and chest as well. Not only that, but he was left completely unprepared and without assistance or supplies. He began to take from Near, by hiding out in one of his employee's apartment. He stayed there for a while, all the time getting information from the employee and gathering supplies himself.
Now, he is back on his feet and getting closer and closer to catching Kira, if he was still in his own world...
•FAKE MEMORIES » In his false memories, he can only remember that he'd been living at an orphanage for most of his life. Everything before the orphanage is just a blur, and he cannot remember his parents. The only thing he knows is his real name, and the fact that he was abandoned at a very young age. No one has told him anything else about himself, and he could really care less. He doesn't remember who Matt is. He knows the name Near, but cannot put the face to the name. He believes that he left the orphanage at the considerably young age of fifteen and started living on his own.Quickly learning how to take care of himself in the harshness of the world. He worked odd jobs, anything he could to get a minimum wage. Often he had to resort to some less than legal ways to get money, though he refused to go back. Despite being underrage, there would be no way that he would return to the orphanage. For him, that would be the ultimate humiliation. He eventually learned that the world worked in odd ways so that attractive people were usually able to get by on their looks alone. Mello found this as stupid as it was funny so he decided to take advantage of that fact, and joined Red Foxy's out of interest. Immediatly he began to rise to the upper class, finding that he could make money for barely doing anything. Despite the fact that he makes enough to live in a better part of town, he still insists on living in Etalon due to the familiarity. He feels as though he fits in there, and there the police are at lax, so he can get away with whatever he wants. Education was always something Mello valued, leaders should only be leaders if they were smart after all, so once he started making enough money he began to attend college. This is what he is doing to this day.

Character Relationships
Sayu Yagami - slightly irritating. She seems very dependent on others, and that can be extremely annoying in the long run.
Sui - A temporary alleviation for boredom. She fights well, and is more interesting to hang out with than most.
Haruna Sakura - Too nice for her own good. She will probably get taken advantage of in the future whether by me or not.
Usagi - Too hyper, only tolerable in small doses, though she hasn't done anything to piss me off.
Ashe - a dick, plain and simple.
